Mission Analyst

Role Overview

Contribute to mission design, flight dynamics and software development for space missions, combining hands-on engineering work with customer-facing activities around our 360™ tool.

Work at the intersection of mission analysis and cutting-edge software, delivering real impact on how the next generation of satellites navigate space.

Mission Analyst

Responsibilities.

  • Perform mission analysis tasks including trajectory design, propulsion sizing, and spacecraft maneuver planning for internal projects and consulting contracts.
  • Develop, test, and validate software models and simulations for mission analysis and flight dynamics.
  • Contribute to the development and quality of our 360™ tool, with a focus on customer needs and engineering standards.
  • Support customers in the use of company tools and solutions, providing technical guidance under the supervision of the Tech Lead.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of technical proposals and work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure mission requirements are met.

Qualifications & Skills.

Must Have

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience combining mission analysis and software development within the space sector, or a strong track record in one with demonstrable exposure to the other.
  • Proficiency in Python is required, including experience with scientific computing libraries (e.g. NumPy, SciPy) and the development or consumption of RESTful APIs.
  • Good understanding of spacecraft modeling and key subsystems, including propulsion, ADCS, power, communications and thermal control.
  • Familiarity with mission analysis and flight dynamics tools or libraries such as GMAT, STK, Orekit, FreeFlyer, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering practices, including object-oriented programming, test-driven development and version control. Experience with GitHub for version control and collaborative development is expected.
  • Solid grounding in orbital and attitude mechanics, optimization, and spacecraft operations.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks with autonomy while knowing when to escalate or seek guidance.
  • Collaborative and proactive attitude, with a genuine interest in contributing to a technical team that spans engineering and software disciplines.
  • Good communication skills, able to interact clearly with peers and, when needed, with customers.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment, comfortable navigating between engineering analysis and software development contexts.
  • Spoken and written professional proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Julia would be a strong asset; familiarity with MATLAB or C++ is also valued.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments (e.g. Docker, AWS), or UX/UI workflows is a plus.
  • Experience with spacecraft maneuvering.
  • Some exposure to technical proposals or space standards.
